Farming is a gathering skill in FlatMMO related to Brewing. Players plant seeds in farming plots and harvest crops after a growth timer. Crops are used primarily as ingredients in potions, food recipes, and other skills.

To start farming, you need seeds in your inventory and must be near a farming plot. There are 8 farming plots in the game: one in Everbrook, one in Mystic Vale (unlocked during the Let There Be Light quest), one in the Omboko village, one in the Ghost Mansion cemetery and 4 in the Greenhouse. Things like Seeds and Bonemeal are integral to this skill. Items like the Straw Hat and Secateurs provide bonuses to your yield.

The Ghost Mansion farm plot is special in that Spirit Mushroom Seeds, Haunted Tree Seeds, Ghost Pepper Seeds, and Warroot will grow instantly when planted here.

Plucking

Plucking is a Mechanic within Farming that is used to get extra seeds. So far there is only one spot to Pluck in Everbrook. Plucking speed can be doubled by wielding a Rake, an uncommon drop from Farmers.

Everbrook

You can get to this Plucking area by walking out of the Starting Screen, or going down to the Heating Homes House. It Gives 1xp Per Pluck

Yield Scaling

Your Farming level affects how many crops you harvest per patch:

The Straw Hat adds +10 effective Farming levels when worn during harvesting, further boosting yields.

The Secateurs add 50% more yield when harvesting leaves

Tree Seeds

Tree seeds can be planted in farming plots to grow trees for Woodcutting, and fruit for Cooking.

Greenhouse

4 Plots

The Greenhouse is a Place only accessible after completing the Farmers Bundle. You may Plant Only Mushroom-Type crops in here to begin with, to plant other seeds like Tree/Fruit Tree seeds and Leaves, you will need to finish some Farming Contracts.

Basement

This is the Greenhouse Basement, here you can fight Sentient Mushrooms for Brewing related drops. The Basement is accessible by showing Bob the Farmer Moss (Dropped from Farming Contract Crates).

Farming Contracts

You can get a Farming Contract by speaking to Bob The Farmer. Farming Contracts are completed by harvesting the requested seed from Bob The Farmer in return for Farming Contract Points.

He will only ask for seeds you can currently farm and that you have in either your bank or your inventory. You can boost your level with Pies to get contracts you normally would not be able to. He will offer you 4 categories, Mushrooms, Leafs, Trees, and Fruit Trees. These Points have milestones, allowing you to plant different seeds in the Greenhouse.

After harvesting the seeds and speaking with Bob The Farmer, you get a Farming Contract Point you can use these to get items from the Contract Crate.

Rewards

You get rewards from the Contract Points, these rewards consist of Farming related Items. You will also receive Farming XP equal to 8x your Farming level (this xp reward can be boosted by apple pies).

Farming Point Strategies

Farming contracts can be done entirely passively with normal farming. However, you can also arrange your inventory before requesting contracts to maximize points.

Because Bob will only assign contracts that you have the seeds and requirements to do, you can drop (or use up, sell, or have another player hold on to) all but 1 type of seed before requesting a contract. This way, you can plant the same crop in all patches and get a guaranteed contract for it each time (8 contracts at once).

For example, if you clear out your bank and inventory of all Mushroom seeds except for Red Mushroom Seeds, then Bob will only assign Red Mushroom contracts. Plant Red Mushroom in every single farming patch. Collect only one at a time, then report back to Bob to turn in the contract and get a new one. This way, you will get 8 guaranteed contract completions for that single 30 minute growing window.

For active farming, Leaf Contracts are the best points/hr due to their higher point per grow time ratio. Dotted Leaf Seeds are typically the most easily obtainable of the leaf seeds.

Additionally, you can try to plant and then set up a series of Tree or Fruit Tree contracts for a few extra points overnight. For example, planting 8 Apple Tree seeds, letting them grow, and then requesting contracts with only Apple Seeds the next day will net you 40 contract points. Note that crops only grow offline for premium subscriber players, so non-premium players will need to leave their accounts logged in to utilize this overnight strategy. Important: Make sure you save at least 1 of the seed type you planted so you can get the rest of the contracts for it after harvesting the first plant.
