Mining is a gathering skill in FlatMMO. Players mine ore nodes to collect ores, which are smelted into bars through Forging and then crafted into Armour, weapons, and Tools. Mining also yields Gems as rare drops from any ore node.

A Bronze Pickaxe is automatically given to new players on first login. You can speed up mining in 2 ways: better tools and leveling. Every 2 levels after you've unlocked an ore will reduce the ticks required to mine it by 1, and every 10 levels for Meteor and Piles

The Meteor Pickaxe provides 60% speed like Titanium, but has a higher bonus when mining Meteors specifically.

Ores

Coal, Copper, and Iron each have a Giant Ore variant - these take much longer to mine and yield only 1 ore.

Bonus Drops

Mold Rock - Every tick spent mining any ore(including Volcky) gives a chance to obtain Mold Rock. When used, it provides a random amount of Rockshrooms (see Farming).

Shiny Ores

10% Chance that when mining node rocks, that it will become shiny, yielding 3x Ore and XP when mined. You will know it's become shiny by the white lines formed on it.
There is also Piles, which have 1% to become shiny(provided by Smitty) after replenishing, yielding 2-3x Paydirts and Xp when mined but doesn't last long because of the crowd.

Armour

Currently, the only Mining Armour in the game Features Necklaces and 3 Pieces of a Set.

Prospector Set

Gems

Gems are rare finds when mining any ore (except Giant Ore variants). Higher-tier ores have a higher chance of yielding gems. Gems are used in Crafting (cutting), Enchantment (enchanting and Stardust conversion), and Forging (necklaces and keys). Wearing a Gem Beads Necklace gives a 15% chance of finding gems from Small Ore Nodes. A golden version gives a 30% chance to find gems from small ore nodes.

Smelting

The Furnace is located on the 1st floor of the Mine. Players smelt ores into bars here - this requires Forging levels, not Mining levels. Higher-tier ores need more Coal (and Charcoal for Promethium and above, and Graphite for Ancient). Glass is also smelted here from Sand, which can be sped up using a Sandsmelt Potion. You can smelt bars one at a time or use bulk smelt to do your whole inventory.

Charcoal Kiln

The Charcoal Kiln is in the 2nd room of the Mine's 2nd floor. Charcoal is required for smelting Promethium, Titanium, and Ancient bars.

To make 1 Charcoal: 50 Woodchips + 600 Coins. Once processed, the Charcoal appears on the ground - click to collect. It will not despawn after logging off or after updates.

You may also Right-Click on your currect Charcoal Pile to see how much is currently inside it.

Prospecting

Prospecting is accessible in the Mines Second floor, you have to go into the hole in the wall to reach it. It Features Mining Paydirt, filtering through it, and spending the rewards in buying Mining Gear.

Mining Paydirt

There are 5 Paydirt piles on the left side of the room, mining them will yield approximately 15-35 paydirt, and the piles usually last 5-6 minutes before they have to be replenished, like normal ore nodes.
They can also become shiny like ore nodes, yield greater payouts (Needs testing on the amounts). The Amount of Paydirt you get can also be increased by double with a mining potion, and stacks with a Shiny Pile.

Filtering And Processing

Once you have enough Paydirt (1,000) and you are ready for it to be processed, put 100 Coal into the Conveyor Furnace. This means the Filter Machine can hold 1,000 Paydirt, and putting more coal increased the cap by 1,000.
Click on the Deposit Arrow to input all of your paydirt, and collect your Filtered Rewards at the Examine Results table. Collecting from the Examine Results Table will yield Mining Xp based on how many Paydirt Filtered (1xp Per)

Mine Layout

Outside

The entrance to the main Mining area is east of Everbrook. The outside area has 2 Coal nodes and 1 Copper node.

First Floor

The first floor contains Copper nodes, Coal nodes, and the Furnace. A ladder leads down to the second floor.

Second Floor

The second floor has many Iron nodes, a single Silver node, and 2 Giant Ore nodes. The fenced-off area requires level 40 Forging and level 40 Mining to access. Two Rockys patrol this floor and drop mining-related items.

Prospecting Area

Going through the hole in the wall will take you to the Prospecting Area. You can Mine Paydirt Piles here, they are using for filtering.

Kiln Room

The Charcoal Kiln room, used for producing Charcoal. It has a stall (level 30 Stealing) and contains a Mossy Rock (level 50 Mining) until you mine it, which reveals a ladder to descend to a Gem Mine.

Gem Mine (Third Floor)

This floor contains Gem Nodes which are currently not able to be mined, and Beads Dwarfs (level 30 Hunting).
