Combat is one of the core gameplay systems in FlatMMO. Players engage in combat by clicking on enemies found throughout the game world. There are three combat styles — Melee, Archery, and Magic — each with their own weapons, armour, and levelling progression. The Health skill levels passively during all forms of combat.
Combat experience is earned by dealing damage to enemies. The style of combat determines which skill receives experience. Food can be eaten during combat to restore health, and potions provide various combat-enhancing effects.
Combat Styles
FlatMMO features three distinct combat styles. Each has its own skill, weapons, and equipment:
| Style | Icon | Skill | Weapons | Ammo / Consumable | Key Stat |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Melee | Melee | Swords, daggers, clubs | None | Melee Damage | |
| Archery | Archery | Bows | Arrows (consumed on use) | Archery Damage | |
| Magic | Magic | Staves, wands | Spell scrolls (via Magic Pouch) | Magic Damage |
Combat Stats
Every player has combat stats that determine their effectiveness in battle. These stats are influenced by your skill levels and equipped gear:
| Stat | Effect |
|---|---|
| Melee Damage | Determines maximum hit with melee weapons |
| Archery Damage | Determines maximum hit with ranged weapons |
| Magic Damage | Determines maximum hit with spells |
| Accuracy | Affects your chance to hit enemies with melee attacks |
| Defence | Reduces incoming physical damage; influenced by Armour and equipment |
| Magic Defence | Reduces incoming magical damage |
Combat Skills
