Frostvale is a cold, northern region accessible by train. Due to the harsh climate, players will take environmental damage unless wearing appropriate cold-resistant armour. Full Bear Armour reduces cold damage to 5 per tick, while full Wolf Fur Armour reduces it to 0. With the cover of the Mountain and the protection of the cold, the Knights Of Grace have solidified their hold over this area with the help of the Mayor.

Frostvale contains a variety of combat enemies, skilling locations, a general store, a bank, and several quest-related NPCs.

Getting There

Players arrive at Frostvale from the Train in the Desert. From the train station, head North to begin exploring the area. Alternatively players can Teleport to Frostvale with the Worship skill.

Cold Damage

Frostvale's freezing environment deals periodic damage to unprotected players. Equipping cold-resistant armour is essential:

Key Locations

Frostvale Center

The main hub of Frostvale. From here you can access the bank, general store, and a building securing the entrance to Mount Frostvale. The Highlander NPC can be found here. Players using the Frostvale Teleport worship skill will be dropped here. Going from here players can go one of 4 ways, Mount Frostvale to the North, Frostvale Waterfall to the East, Northern Fields to the South and Frostvale Cemetery to the West.

Bank

The Frostvale Bank is located near the center. This bank has a torch, it requires a Pine Sacred Heart to heal you. You are safe from the cold here.

General Store

The general store sells useful supplies including Bear Fur, Wolf Fur, logs, and buckets. You are safe from the cold here.

Frostvale Northern Entrance

A small building with a bed and a sign indicating that Mount Frostvale lies to the North. This door is locked until you complete a quest for the Mayor. You are safe from the cold here.

Mount Frostvale

Mount Frostvale (accessible by going through the door in the Northern Entrance) contains an Ice Orb Enchanting spot for Enchantment training. There is also a stall (level 69 Stealing) protected by an Ice Ogre (level 60 Hunting) and a Snowy Pine Tree for Woodcutting (this tree is for the Medium Achievement Snowed Pine Tree). A path leads to the North.

Polar Bear Path

Heading North reveals an unlit fire, a Polar Bear Catcher NPC, an entrance to a cave which can be unlocked by lighting the unlit fire. You can do this by lighting some Logs on fire with Matches next to it while the Bondfire is burning, then clicking on it. There's also an exit to the North.

Mount Frostvale Sign

You find a sign telling you Mount Frostvale to the North along with a path to the North, and a Mount Highlander NPC who warns you to bring lots of Hot Berries.

Yeti Path

The first signs of life other than Ice Ogres. They don't seem happy to see you, with 2 aggressive Yetis and a path to the North, there's 3 choices to make. Run away, fight, or run further North.

Ladder

Going further North brings you to 2 Pine Trees, a ladder and a path to the North.

Down the ladder

Using the ladder show you a cave split in 2. Using a Shovel to dig from the surface on the other side lets you open a Stealing chest. You are safe from the cold here.

Ice Golem Path

The path to the North reveals 2 aggressive Ice Golems, and a path further North. To continue you will have to kill 10 Ice Golems.

Mount Frostvale Shop

After killing the 10 Ice Golems you find a Mount Highlander with some items for sale. Including the Freeze Badge, the only way to acquire this.

Northern Fields

Heading South while in Frostvale will bring you to 2 Pine Trees, a Tribleman and an Ice Beetle with access to Cave 1, and an exit to the South.

Going South brings you to 3 Wolves and a Pine Tree. Continuing South bring you to the Train.

Train Station

The Train that brought you here. You can talk to the Train Engineer to return to the Desert, or choose to head North towards Frostvale through the Northern Fields. You are safe from the cold here.

Caves

Cave 1

The entrance is located on the West side of Northern Fields, near an Ice Beetle and an Omboko tribesman NPC. Inside, players can fight Iceflares there is also a Stealing Chest (66 Stealing) not pictured here.

Cave 2

A second cave entrance is found to the East, past the river. Inside, players can access the Ice Ogre area by heading left, which also contains a stealing chest.

The first room you come into has nothing in it except 2 ways to go.

This room contains 2 Ice Ogres, and a Stealing Chest (70 Stealing). Going out this room to the bottom loops brings you outside and lets you loop back in from the other side to safe spot the Ice Ogres.

Mayor's House

Located in the northern part of Frostvale Cave 2. Inside you'll find Pine Log piles and a bed.

Inside you'll find Frostvale Mayor with a bed and a quest. You are safe from the cold here.

Polar Bear Cave

Just North of Frostvale this cave is guarded by a Polar Bear Catcher NPC. Here you will find a Polar Bear (Caged), not like you'd stand a chance against the real thing. You are safe from the cold here.

Waterfall

East of the center, lies the Frostvale Waterfall. Two Ice Beetles can be found here, along with a Lobster Cage fishing spot.

Note: The Hard Achievement Caging Berries can be completed at this Lobster Cage spot. They do not count for the Achievement Fishing Berries.

Frostvale River

Continuing East from the Waterfall you come across the Frostvale River, there is a spot to catch Arctic Cod and an Eastern path leading to Cave 2 and the Mayors House. There is also an NPC across the bridge named FrostBoot he's involved with a quest.

Note: If you are going for the Hard Achievement Fishing Berries the Frozen Berries obtained from Lobster Cages do not count, they must be fished here and in the Volcano.

Frostvale Cemetary

West of the center, lies the Frostvale Cemetary. Two Ice Ghosts can be found here, along with a snowman priest.

Quests

The NPC FrostBoot is located at the Frostvale River. Speaking to him will start a quest.

Mount Frostvale has a Snow Covered Pine Tree that must be chopped.

Fishing

Starting at the Waterfall

Arctic Cod can be fished at the Frostvale River, located to the East. A Lobster Cage spot is also available near the waterfall (one screen West). Frozen Berries can be obtained while fishing, or opening the Lobster Cage. If you are going for the Achievement Fishing Berries the Frozen Berries obtained from Lobster Cages do not count, they must be fished here and in the Volcano. The Achievement Caging Berries can be completed at the Lobster Cage spot by the Waterfall.

Stealing

A stealing chest can be found in the Ice Ogre area, accessible from Cave 2.
