Sigils are cosmetic symbols displayed next to a player's name in chat. They serve as collectibles and status symbols, allowing players to show off rare items from past events. All sigils currently in FlatMMO are legacy items transferred from the previous games in the series and cannot be obtained through normal gameplay.
Game History
FlatMMO is the latest game in a series of browser-based idle/incremental games created by the developer known as Smitty. The series spans over a decade and shares many core mechanics inspired by RuneScape, including skills like Mining, Crafting, Farming, Brewing, Cooking, and Combat.
| Game | Era | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Diamond Hunt 1 | 2014-2016 | Started as an offline idle clicker in April 2014, then evolved into an online multiplayer game in 2015. Featured 5 skills (Mining, Crafting, Farming, Brewing, Exploring) with a global max level of 500. Magic and Cooking were added later. Introduced the first holiday sigils. |
| Diamond Hunt 2 | 2017-2019 | Launched February 2017. Expanded to 9 skills, splitting Exploring into Combat and Fishing, and adding Woodcutting. Introduced Party Hat sigils, a nod to RuneScape's iconic rare items. |
| Diamond Hunt 3 | 2020-2021 | Shifted focus toward combat. Skills capped at level 100 with a global max of 900. Introduced Faradox as endgame content. |
| Idle Pixel | 2022-present | A rebuilt successor with a larger player base. Continued the tradition of holiday sigil events. Login information and sigils were transferred directly to FlatMMO upon its launch. |
| FlatMMO | 2025-present | The current game. A full MMO with real-time multiplayer, a visual game world, and expanded combat. All Idle Pixel login credentials and sigils transferred automatically. |
Sigils were introduced as holiday event rewards starting with the Halloween 2015 Pumpkin Sigil in Diamond Hunt 1. Each seasonal event (Halloween, Christmas, Easter) gave players a chance to earn a unique sigil, which would become tradable the following year. When FlatMMO launched, all existing sigils from across the entire series were transferred to players' banks, preserving a decade of event history.
How Sigils Work
Sigils are displayed next to a player's name in the game chat. Players can select which sigil to display from their bank. The number of each sigil in existence is fixed, making older and rarer sigils highly valuable collectibles.
Prices listed below are approximate market values based on Dounbot pricing and serve as a rough reference for relative value between sigils.
