Fermenting is the process of converting raw ingredients into beer using a barrel. It produces Premium Beer and Rogue Premium Beer, which provide stronger combat buffs than their standard counterparts. Fermenting is closely related to the Brewing skill.
How to Ferment
To begin fermenting, the player needs a Barrel, which can be picked up from outside the Tavern in Everbrook. The barrel must then be filled with the required ingredients to start the fermenting process.
Once filled, the barrel enters the fermenting state and must remain in the player's inventory for the process to complete. Fermenting takes a variable amount of time — it can take hours, though it may complete faster with luck.
Tavern Locations
There are two taverns in the game where beer-related activities take place:
| Tavern | Location | Normal Beer | Premium Beer (via Fermenting) | Barrels Available |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Everbrook Tavern | Everbrook | Beer (from bartender) | Premium Beer | Barrel |
| Desert Tavern | Jafa Outpost (Desert) | Rogue Beer (from bartender) | Rogue Premium Beer | Desert Barrel |
The Desert Tavern in Jafa Outpost is accessible after completing the Desert Temple quest.
The Wine Barrel can be picked up outside the Greenhouse after completing the Farmer Bundle.
Fermenting Recipes
This part of the process awards Cooking XP and requires Cooking Levels, but is done without any waiting needed.

Fermented Recipes
Pouring your fermented beverage into something to drink from awards Brewing XP and requires Brewing levels, but requires you to wait for the barrels to ferment first.

Beverages
All beverages provide a temporary combat buff lasting 5 minutes (5:00). They increase damage across all combat styles (Melee, Archery, and Magic) but reduce accuracy. Beverage effects do not stack — if both a standard and premium beer are consumed, or a premium beer and a wine, only the stronger bonus applies.
| Icon | Name | Source | Damage Bonus | Accuracy Penalty | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Beer | Everbrook Tavern bartender | +2 | −5 | 5:00 | |
| Premium Beer | Fermenting (Everbrook barrel) | +5 | −2 | 5:00 | |
| Rogue Beer | Desert Tavern bartender | +2 | −5 | 5:00 | |
| Rogue Premium Beer | Fermenting (Desert barrel) | +5 | −2 | 5:00 | |
| Wine | Fermenting (Wine Barrel) | +7 | -4 | 5:00 |
Standard beers (Beer and Rogue Beer) share identical stats, as do Premium Beer and Rogue Premium Beer. The difference is purely in where they are obtained.
