Swords are Slash-type melee weapons in FlatMMO. They share the Slash attack type with Scimitars, which have higher damage at the cost of requiring special components to forge. Swords offer a balanced middle ground among melee weapons — more damage than maces and knives, with decent accuracy.
An unobtainable Great Gold Sword also exists in the game data but is not currently available.

Comparison with Scimitars
Scimitars are the other Slash-type weapon. They deal more damage than swords at every tier but require a scimitar handle and blade rather than straight bars.

Scimitars consistently deal +2 more damage than swords of the same tier, but swords are simpler and cheaper to forge (15 bars vs handle + blade).
